The Gloria F. Ross Center for Tapestry Studies

Weavers Mary Lane and Susan Martin Maffei, 2002

The GFR Center conducts and promotes tapestry-related research and serves as an informal resource center. Our current projects include ongoing Southwestern Textile Research and exciting new investigations in the Gloria F. Ross Archives

On an annual basis, we sponsor a free public lecture, usually in collaboration with a museum or another educational organization. From time to time, we collaborate with other non-profit groups on conferences, exhibits, publications, and workshops. All of our collaborations, including events at the Arizona State Museum, serve to explain the varied aspects of tapestry and to encourage the worldwide understanding of tapestry as a fascinating art form.

To attract a broad audience, we offer our public events in different parts of the country. Thus far, we've held events in New York, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Chicago, Santa Fe, and Tucson. Look for our presence in other locations including Washington, D.C., and Boulder, Colorado, in the future!

For more information see News and our Events Calendar.
